Ravens release Hill as 10-game ban looms

The Ravens proved their interest by offering Weddle a four-year contract reportedly worth up to $29 million (even though other teams offered more), and Weddle emphasized during his introductory press conference that he can’t wait to get to work. I want to be the best.

He gives them the kind of player they have desired in their secondary since Ed Reed’s departure, and Weddle arrived with hopes of bringing another championship to Baltimore.

Weddle explained how he envied the Ravens’ success during his nine years in San Diego and woke up at night convinced Baltimore should be his new home. “It was three years I had it. It was awesome”.

“When it comes down to it, coming from a place that didn’t want me to a place that would do anything to get me, it means the world”, Weddle said, per Hensley. “I want to be great”. This is what I want.

He played in 16 games for Baltimore in 2015, including 14 starts, and had one interception and one sack. I know it’s the right decision, I know it’s going to be a special journey for us. He played 13 games and fought through a nagging groin injury past year, all while knowing that his time with the Chargers was coming to a close. However, his relationship with the team turned sour last offseason after he felt “disrespected: for not being granted his wish to retire with the organization”. Second-year tight end Nick Boyle also faces a 10-game ban to start the 2016 season for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs. With the moves the Ravens have made and the injured players who will be back, it’s getting safer to pencil the Ravens in for one of the spots in the AFC playoff field.

“For me, personally I’m a simple guy”. A big hitter, Hill was also viewed by many as the best complement to the rangy Weddle.

With the addition of Weddle in its fold, the Ravens will now have to decide which safety on the roster will be out to give room for Weddle.
