Ravens TE Benjamin Watson out for the year
The Baltimore Ravens got awful news on the injury front on Saturday as it was discovered that tight end Benjamin Watson tore his Achilles and would be out for the season.

Saturday’s preseason game against the Lions will give us the best look at the current state of the team in preparation for the season opener against the Buffalo Bills. He finished the 2015 season with a career high in receptions (74), receiving yards (825), and touchdowns (6).
The Ravens are down to one healthy tight end with experience: Crockett Gillmore.
Signed as a free agent in March, Watson was expected to be a key element in the Ravens’ passing game.
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco (5) looks to pass during the first half against the Arizona Cardinals at University of Phoenix Stadium.
The Ravens have suffered their first major injury of the summer. He needed assistance from two trainers to limp off the field and was taken straight to the locker room.
The team eventually announced that Watson tore his Achilles, and ESPN’s Jamison Henley reported that he’ll miss the entire 2016 season.

Luckily for the Ravens they have plenty of depth at the tight end position.
