Raw footage shows confusion, fear inside smoke-filled Emirates plane after crash-landing
Emirates stated that there were 226 Indian nationals on board the direct flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Dubai.

The cause of the accident was not immediately clear.
HYDERABAD: In the aftermath of the Dubai plane crash on arrival, many flights to the city have been confirmed to be cancelled.
Footage on social media, claiming to be of the crashed plane, showed thick black smoke billowing from a plane.
Emirates is the largest single operator of the Boeing 777, as well as the Airbus A380 superjumbo, and expanded its fleet to 250 aircraft a year ago. “All passengers and crew are accounted for and safe.”, stated the UAE press information bureau.
“The Australian consulate in Dubai is urgently seeking to contact any Australians affected by the emergency landing of an Emirates aircraft in Dubai”, a Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokesperson said in a statement on Thursday. More happily, there has also been very strong praise for the courage and professionalism of the pilots, cabin crew and emergency response workers after they evacuated all of the passengers from the aircraft prior to fire breaking out.
Speaking about the causalities, he said: Medical teams dealt with 13 persons with minor injuries, who left after a short time.
The airline said that it has already notified passengers about their respective flight status through various channels. As of now all the departure flights from Dubai International airport have been delayed until the further notice.
“Our main priority now is the safety and well-being of all involved”, the airlines said on Twitter.

A Boeing 777 of Emirates Airline, flying from Thiruvananthapuram to Dubai, made an emergency landing at 12.45 local time (0845 GMT) at Dubai International Airport. Several yellow fire trucks surrounded the plane.
