Ray Donovan joins Showtime original dramas Homeland, Shameless, Masters of Sex, The Affair, Billions and newcomer Roadies, the last of which has yet to be renewed for season two.
Showtime has renewed Ray Donovan for a fifth season, the network announced Thursday during the TCA Summer Tour.
Season four of Ray Donovan concludes in September.
The series was recently nominated for five Emmys including Liev Schreiber picking up his second consecutive nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor, Jon Voight earned his second for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and Hank Azaria was also nominated for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. In addition to Schreiber and Voight, the latter playing Donovan’s estranged father whose release from prison began the series, Ray Donovan stars Paula Malcomson (The Hunger Games), Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes), Dash Mihok (The Day After Tomorrow), Kerris Dorsey (Brothers & Sisters), and Devon Bagby (Ironside).
Here’s Showtime’s synopsis of the current season: Ray’s second chance at redemption is tested when he meets professional boxer Hector Campos (Cruz Cordova) and his volatile sister Marisol (Bonet), who harbor a unsafe secret. Who would you like to see guest star next season?

The Showtime-produced series was created by Ann Biderman and is executive produced by David Hollander, Mark Gordon, Bryan Zuriff and Lou Fusaro. A newly independent Bridget provides comfort and support during this tumultuous time as Conor begins to assert his autonomy with disastrous results.
