Chris Archer went into Wednesday’s game against the Red Sox looking to quiet talk – most of which he felt was without merit though of some comedic value – about his poor start to the season. He’s 0 for 9 against former teammate Price, but Curt Casali is 3 for 6 and homered twice off Price in a 10-2 win over Detroit on July 28. He also gave up one homer. The grand slam was his second in five days.

“That’s a good pitch”, Price said with a smile when asked about the fastball that hit Guyer. He had a two batter glitch when he walked [Chris] Young and [Ryan] Hanigan other than that you’re not going to find a more dominating performance.
