After more than 20 years in the national political spotlight, a failed 2008 presidential run, and one of the most contentious Democratic conventions in recent memory, Hillary Clinton made history Thursday when she accepted her party’s nomination for president. “Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing”, Donald J. Trump said.
The first woman to become the presidential nominee of a major political party then detailed the years she had spent in public service and her goals for a presidency.
In addition to the statement, Trump tweeted several additional criticisms of Clinton.
“Unless you want to be lied to, belittled and attacked for your beliefs, don’t watch Hillary’s DNC speech tonight”, Trump’s campaign said in a fundraising email.

One of the fascinating twists Thursday evening is that this time it’s Bill Clinton who will be the adoring spouse, rapt and smiling when the cameras cut away from the candidate in the spotlight.
