President Obama condemned what he called “an attack on law enforcement in Baton Rouge”, after three officers were killed and three others wounded on Sunday, saying such attacks on police “have to stop”. Three officers are dead and three are hospitalized with injuries.
Two of the officers who died were Baton Rouge Police officers. The deputy killed was 45 years old.
The two remaining officers at OLOL hospital are being treated.

He saw a man in a red shirt lying in an empty parking lot and “another gunman running away as more shots were being fired back and forth from several guns”.

They say the men were dressed in all black, they changed clothes inside the store, then left in a silver Nissan with a Texas license plate.

This month, after Dallas but before Baton Rouge, at least three countries – Baharain, the United Arab Emirates and the Bahamas – issued travel advisories, telling their citizens to be avoid the United States or be wary while visiting here.
The victims were from Baton Rouge Police Department as well as East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, another official said.
Whatever the motive in Baton Rouge, the incident highlighted frayed nerves and was linked by people of all political backgrounds to the July 7 shootings in Dallas and the earlier deaths in Baton Rouge and Minneapolis. One suspect was also shot and killed, and authorities are still searching for two more.
Messages from across the globe have been coming in to the WAFB newsroom. I really feel for you all at this hard time. It really saddens me to again turn on the news and hear of another shooting in the U.S. specifically against law enforcement.
