Reputed to be a conciliator in the dressing room, Casillas was caught up in internal squabbling in the 2012-2013 season under combative coach Jose Mourinho. What about Spain only three. but quality can beat quanity Casillas has won 2 UEFA European Championship titles and of course the coveted Federation Internationale de Football Association World Cup.

Casillas also revealed why he chose to join FC Porto.

Casillas paid tribute to his fans before going out on to the field to pose in front of all the 19 trophies he has won with Real. I’ve never had a problem with him and his attitude has always been exemplary.

Perez acknowledged “maybe we did things badly” and there had been confusion, but insisted it had been Casillas who had chosen to leave Madrid for FC Porto and had wanted “an austere and simple” farewell. Real published a glowing homage to Casillas on their website (www.realmadrid.com), calling him “the greatest goalkeeper in the history of the club and in the history of Spanish football” and “a symbol of the best in our history”. I tried to always carry their values. “I will fight to the utmost to not let them down and win as many titles as possible”.

Finally after thanking his family, Casillas expressed his gratitude to the Real Madrid supporters who have been behind him for so many years.

Casillas spoke on Sunday after Spanish daily newspaper El Mundo published an interview with his parents in which they said their son had been forced out of the club by Perez. ‘Thank you. Thank you. “I’ve learnt a lot from all of them”. I’m sad to see Iker leave a club that he adored and gave everything too for so many years…

The long-time Madrid shot-stopper will sign to Portuguese side Porto in the upcoming days as the announcement was made official by the club themselves recently. “But they (Real) called me afterwards and we rejected a four million euro offer”.
