The 24-year-old Spaniard’s much-anticipated move to Real failed to materialize before Monday’s deadline due to miscommunication between the Spanish club and United.

A failure to submit the necessary paperwork before the European transfer deadline means De Gea will remain at Old Trafford until at least January – but most likely for the rest of the season.
The Real president called the whole situation a shame, in a story on El Larguero, adding that while he didn’t think United negotiated in bad faith, the Premier League club’s last-minute attempts at negotiating were ultimately the downfall of the deal.
“I was told that he (De Gea) was very affected because he had high hopes of joining Real Madrid“.
The same, the same day and everything happened just as it did with De Gea.
Real Madrid had first released a statement that blamed Manchester United for the botched transfer.
“What they (United) lack is experience”.
The Madrid chief claims the Red Devils took over eight hours to send the contracts back to the Spanish capital, meaning it was too late for Madrid to enter the transfer onto FIFA’s Transfer Matching System on time. It happened previous year with [Fabio] Coentrao, exactly the same, ‘ he said.
A 19-year-old Ramos was snapped up by Real Madrid in 2005 from Sevilla and the global star has not looked back since – becoming a fan favourite after making over 300 appearances for the club.
Louis van Gaal is ready to end David de Gea’s Manchester United exile. We sent them the paperwork at 1:30 and it took eight hours for them to return it. I do not think they did it with malice.
“In half an hour, we agreed everything”.
“Sam just wants to play football but Manchester United are holding him back and not even playing him“, said his agent Jordan Segal.
“We couldn’t buy him before because Manchester United didn’t want to sell him”.

The Madrid club have come in for ridicule in the Spanish press, but Perez denied it was their fault.
