Real Madrid could still try to sign Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea despite the impressive form of Keylor Navas this season, according to Guillem Balague.

De Gea is still a potential galactico for Real Madrid.

However, Navas has been a key performer for Los Blancos this term, racking up nine appearances in La Liga, featuring for the domestic giants in every one of their matches and helping Real to the division’s best defensive record-they have only conceded three goals.

Perez knows any move for De Gea will mean dumping the popular Navas from the club.

The Red Devils goalkeeper came within hours of leaving Old Trafford for the Bernabeu during the last transfer window, with only a controversial paperwork issue blocking the move after terms had been agreed.

‘De Gea fits the business plan of having a superstar in goal instead of Keylor Navas who is very good. He has been for a few years now.

“Navas has had an exceptional start to the season in Spain and justified my theory that he is up there, if I say the top three – as a loose number – in the world because he is that good”. I think his all-round game, he’s got a lot more about him.
