Record and Near-Record Temperatures Expected to Scorch Parts of Bay Area

Wednesday looks to hold more rain before 10 a.m. with a high near 54 degrees in the afternoon, with gusts of up to 45 miles per hour.

To put this trend into perspective, the high temperature in San Francisco Sunday was 57 degrees; on Wednesday it’s expected to be 90.

Regardless of your feelings about the summer-like temperatures, the Victor Valley residents should experience mild spring temperatures next week from daytime highs from the low 60’s to the low 70’s with several chances of rain throughout the week.

A blast of record-setting hot air from Mother Nature began to descend upon the Bay Area on Wednesday morning, with temperatures gradually ascending to a destination that’s expected to be in the upper 80s and low 90s by the evening. By Thursday, however, the boil in that Santa Cruz mountain community will drop to 75 and by Friday the mercury will be down to a mellow 67.

In Oakland, the temperature is expected to reach 92 degrees, which would break a record of 86 set on April 6, 1989.

“There’ll be a handful of places out there that will see record-breaking temperatures”, Anderson said.

But the heat won’t last long with temperatures dropping by about 20 degrees by Thursday.

San Jose will reach 87 degrees Wednesday but cool off to 75 the next day and then to 67 by Friday.
