Record For Vardy As Leicester Hold United

Foxes forward Vardy broke Ruud van Nistelrooy’s 10-match scoring streak record by netting in his 11th straight Barclays Premier League game as United were denied the chance to go top.

The United and England captain was hooked with 20 minutes to go by a manager finally tiring of his failure to get behind defences.

The Daily Star previously claimed that United manager Louis van Gaal was looking at the England global as a potential transfer target following his blistering start to the new campaign.

Schweinsteiger revealed that United found it hard to break Leicester down once they were sitting deep and that they may have to rethink their strategy. “The majority of them came over, to be fair to them”, Vardy said.

“I don’t have tricks to beat a man, I’m not rapid, I can basically head the ball and score so when Vardy came in and we were winning every week and we won the league it was brilliant for me”.

“I heard Schweinsteiger say Vardy is like Klose for their national team”. Van Gaal’s side will need to be much better against West Ham United next time out. Sheffield United said this week that widespread reports that Blackpool’s Stan Mortensen set the record at 11 matches in 1950-51 were incorrect, confirming that Dunne scored 19 goals in his 12-match run between October 24, 1931 and January 1, 1932.

“But as soon as he played he was fantastic and he was the fastest player I’ve ever seen”.

“Jamie is such a laid-back character”. Everyone is talking about him and he is doing great things this season.

“It was another game we wanted to get three points from but I think a draw was probably a fair result”. You can tell he is the kind of lad that is not going to change.

There was excitement whenever Vardy received possession on Saturday, inside or outside the penalty box, but he didn’t seem burdened by the weight of the occasion when he was given his big chance.

“If I let the nerves show it will affect my performance”, Vardy said.

Bookmakers are already taking odds on who could play Vardy, with Efron the frontrunner to add to his seminal roles in That Awkward Moment and Bad Neighbours, while the Leicester frontman could even play himself!

“My players are disappointed because we had the feeling we could win. When I see 40 points then we can take another step, little by little”.
