Record nine holes-in-one at Masters par-three contest

Andy Sullivan, David Lingmerth, Webb Simpson, Smylie Kaufman were the other players to record holes-in-one, with Sullivan doing so on the fifth. No player has gone on to earn a green jacket after winning the contest in its 54-year history. “Thank you very much for taking the time to talk and take a picture with me!!!”

In 10 previous Masters, including the past five in a row, he has always made the cut and a year ago finished second.

It was a great day for Jimmy Walker and hopefully there are even greater days ahead for the veteran.

There were a record nine hole-in-ones on Wednesday (local time) spread across six of the nine par-3s – the biggest roar reserved for 80-year-old three-time Masters victor Gary Player after he aced the 115-yard seventh.

Since the Par 3 Contest’s inception in 1960, golfers have combined to shoot 80 holes-in-one, averaging about 1.4 aces per round.
