ASTON Martin will build its first “hypercar” due to arrive in showrooms in 2018.

Aston Martin has shown the seriousness of its intent to challenge the likes of Ferrari [NYSE:RACE] and McLaren Automotive when it comes to building the fastest, most technologically-advanced road cars by announcing a technical partnership with the Red Bull Racing Formula One team.

Aston Martin is synonymous with fictional English super-spy James Bond, who traditionally drives – and destroys – the niche luxury marque’s latest models in 007 movies.

F1 team Red Bull Racing will help Aston Martin develop the new road-going supercar.

“The latter has always bubbled away, resulting in countless sketches and doodles over the years”.

Ahead of the 2016 season, Red Bull has now revealed it has signed a deal with Aston Martin as part of a plan to work on a road vehicle together.

Adrian Newey has long harboured a desire to build a road auto, saying that it was an ambition that he’d had since the age of six.

Also, given the fact that they’ve put a three digit number code at the end of the project moniker, it could mean there will be more than one of these Aston Martin Red Bull hypercars.

“The rulebook now nearly designs the auto for you in Formula 1”.

“It allows us to translate the technology we have developed in F1TM into a new arena”. The team are believed to be set to run Aston Martin decals and wings on the RB12 with immediate effect, signifying the agreement. Dr. Andy Palmer, Aston Martin’s CEO states the collaboration will “create a auto that will excite and stir the imaginations of the vehicle designers of the future and a global audience of sports vehicle enthusiasts”. The British manufacturer will undoubtedly stick to its trademark style, but to keep up with an F1 vehicle will require serious aerodynamic revisions – the sort seen on its DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo auto (below).

“He’s [Aston Martin’s engineering and motorsport chief David King] got to take Adrian and Marek’s design and somehow manufacture that and we all know Adrian’s designs are very uncompromising so I’ll be interested to see actually how much hair Dave has left in two years’ time”, said Horner.
