The St. Joseph American Red Cross is actively seeking new volunteers to help in Louisiana.
On Thursday, September 15th 2016 at 5:30 p.m. the Eastern Kentucky Chapter will host new volunteer and disaster volunteer training sessions in Maysville, KY at the Mason County Co-Op Extensions Office, 800 US-68 BUS, Maysville, KY 41056.
The Red Cross reports that to date, they have deployed more than 6,300 volunteers in less than two months, two-and-half-times the number called upon by this point in 2015. Red Cross staff and volunteers will be on-hand to share their experiences and explain the variety of roles available at the Red Cross. Once applications are completed through the Volunteer Connection system, the Red Cross will contact interested individuals about signing up for basic disaster classes. “We’re proud that a distinguished organization like the American Red Cross calls on us to help facilitate their immediate needs to aid in providing comfort and care”. They said they had structural damage.
