A “red flag” warning is in effect across Carroll, Baltimore, Harford, Howard and Anne Arundel counties and Baltimore City from noon to 8 p.m.
The fire burned about five acres near the top of the mountainous terrain, Assistant Fire Chief Mark Omasta said. The Portland Fire Department requested mutual aid to the scene.
No injuries were reported.
The Maine Forest Service says areas along the coast are at a high risk for fires Monday. The path up to the fire was also lit up with smaller lights and even glow sticks.
According to the NWS, the humidity will be as low as 25%, which means the dry weather and gusty winds may cause a fire to spread quickly, and make it hard to extinguish. Christopher Martin is the Director of Forestry of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

Officers will be conducting inspections throughout the season and violators can be ticketed $604.50 for failing to possess a valid work permit or not meeting the requirements of a permit.
