Red Sox & Angels Rained Out In LA, Will Play Doubleheader Monday

The Boston Red Sox will be on the road to face the Los Angeles Angels on Major League Baseball Saturday and televised on FOX Sports at 9:05 pm ET based on your geographic location. Though he was one of the few to do anything productive, Bogaerts turned in a nice game at the plate as he went 2-3 with a pair of singles.

The Los Angeles Angels were rained out at home for the first time in 20 years Sunday night, with heavy downpours forcing the postponement of their game against the Boston Red Sox. He’ll face Jake Peavy and the San Francisco Giants today with a career.

With that, Los Angeles holds a 50-40 winning record and snags the impressive 1st spot in the American League Western Division. He improves to 10-6 on the year, and lowers his ERA to 3.24. “He signed off the season’s first half with his fifth start of at least five earned runs, but returning on regular rest after the All-Star Game, Miley no-hit the Angels for six innings”.

The All-Star Game MVP has always been a good low-ball hitter. Against the Red Sox on May 24, he allowed three runs on seven hits in 6 2/3 innings for the loss.

Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia was 0 for 4 in his first game off the disabled list. “Whether you’re in elementary school or high school, I hope you look at Mike Trout and say that’s the way you should play the game, because I want the next generation of ballplayers to all play as hard and as well as he does”. He retired the last 15 batters of the game, mixing his sharp-breaking curves and sliders with an explosive fastball that was still hitting 95 miles per hour in the ninth.

Red Sox: RHP Clay Buchholz, seeking a second opinion on the strained flexor muscle in his forearm that has sidelined him since July 11, is planning on seeing Dr. James Andrews in Pensacola, Florida on Wednesday.

Bad: Entering with an American League-leading 2.04 ERA, Athletics ace Sonny Gray gave up five runs on five hits to the Twins at home.

Red Sox: Eduardo Rodriguez (5-2, 3.59 ERA), the 22-year-old Venezuelan lefty, has given up just four runs in 17 1-3 innings over his last three starts.
