Redknapp expects Bale to leave Real Madrid for United

Former Wales and Real Madrid boss John Toshack believes that managerial switch will not adversely affect Bale and Redknapp echoed Toshack’s view.

Writing in his column for the London Evening Standard, Redknapp said: “Gareth Bale leaving Real Madrid for Manchester United could happen”.

The 25-year-old signed a new four-year deal at Old Trafford, however it seems that Real Madrid will be keen on a move for goalkeeper.

The same report has suggested that Bale was one of Rafa Benitez’s admirers, and that the winger is now unsettled after Los Blancos’ decision to sack the manager.

Harry Redknapp has admitted that he would not be “surprised” if Gareth Bale left Real Madrid to join Manchester United before the end of January.

Redknapp also thinks that Bale’s influence, if he were to sign for Louis van Gaal’s men in this window, would automatically turn them into title contenders.

“If he went to United this month, they would suddenly have a realistic chance of winning the title because he could go there and score 15 goals in the second half of the season”, he added.

Hazard has failed to live-up to his sensational form of last season which saw him named as the English Footballer of the Year as he’s failed to even register a single goal during the campaign so far, so it’s conceivable that Chelsea could use him as bait to land Bale this summer.

Bale picked up more than twice as many votes as club mate James Rodriguez – who has been linked with a £63m move to United this month – as the Colombian scooped just one fifth of the total votes.
