The Giants (1-2) built an early lead and posted a 32-21 win over the Washington Redskins on Thursday night. Let’s review in our traditional “Kudos & Wet Willies” style. Amukamara looked as if he was reading Cousins’ eyes the entire play.
On the next drive, the Redskins, who made it to the Giants’ 34-yard line, committed their second turnover when Cousins’ pass intended for tight end Derek Carrier was tipped and grabbed by Unga. The Giants’ offense returned to the field just 14 yards away from the end zone, and four plays later, Manning handed the ball off to Andre Williams for a 1-yard touchdown. For the most part the Giants stuck with the quick, short passing game.
The first, was an across-the-field throw that was slightly off target but snatched out of the air by acrobatic wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. We’ve got to continue to run the ball, and the receivers have got to make some plays.
“To have leads in the fourth quarter and to not hold onto those and not be at our best in the final minutes of a game is frustrating”.
“I wanted a first down, that we might keep the ball even longer, and I felt confident that we would be able to achieve that”, Coughlin said.

Odell Beckham – Just another ho-hum night for Beckham. If the Redskins want to have success this season, then they will need whoever is playing quarterback to step up.
“Did you see that?” he asked of a reporter chatting with Nikita Whitlock. “We were right there, could easily have won”. We’re just trying to play fresh guys.
“That’s not the way it’s supposed to be”, Coughlin said.

Any questions why he made this team instead of Henry Hynoski?
The Giants scored in a variety of ways against their NFC East rival, including getting a two-point score when running back Rashad Jennings blocked Tress Way’s punt for a safety in the first quarter.
“Ever since I was a rookie, I’ve always had a knack for blocking punts”, Jennings said.
They beat the Rams by dictating the pace of play with a solid rushing attack and a strong defense. The average National Football League team previous year averaged 5.4 yards per play over the entire season. There are flaws in the Giants’ defense certainly, but the ability to defend the run gives Steve Spagnuolo something to build on.
SIT/START: Don’t forget to set your fantasy football lineups. Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara jumps the route nicely, but this is simply too risky a throw to make with Cousins’ skill level, especially considering how deep the Redskins are pinned in their own half of the field. But this banality is especially true when it comes to Cousins in Washington: In the eight games in which Cousins has thrown more than one interception, the Redskins’ record is a gruesome 0-8.
