Redskins hang on, win fourth straight

The Philadelphia Eagles, after their first defeat of the 2016 National Football League regular season, are looking to bounce back against the Washington Redskins in their first divisional rivalry game of the season.

Vaitai’s shaky blocking in the first half seemed to affect Wentz’s confidence to stick in the pocket and patiently wait for the routes to fully develop as he had during the Eagles’ first five games. The Redskins enter Sunday’s game with the eighth-most takeaways in the NFL. He is only one player in a game where it’s 11 on 11. The performance of the trio has to be exciting for the Redskins coaching staff.

This year, veteran DeAngelo Hall had to intervene when Norman got into a sideline scrap with David Bruton before a Monday night game. How can we play sharper? “I think that affected us to some level”. Taken out of his comfort zone, he was uncharacteristically erratic with his throws in the early stages and finished 3-of-8 for 28 yards in the first half. We found the caption for the photo, which explains a little bit of what was going on. Wentz is sixth in the National Football League with a 103.5 passer rating and he became the first rookie QB since 1970 to win his team’s first three games and not throw an interception. “We had the three straight defensive drives in the second quarter with the kick return and the pick-six, so we were never able to get into a rhythm offensively”.

“We have so much more on the table we want to get to”, Redskins center Spencer Long said. We give him his respect.

That being said, the out status was widely expected since the injury happened just a few days ago.

“I had to unleash the beast”, Smith said. “But we don’t dwell on that too much, at the same time”.

“He’s been doing that from the first day of OTA’s until now”, quarterback Kirk Cousins said. It wasn’t a compliment.

Wentz insisted he wasn’t rattled early on by the sacks.

Eagles tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai had a rough game starting in place of suspended Lane Johnson, but he wasn’t the only rookie to struggle. On the fifth play, Kerrigan simply bull-rushed Vaitai right into Wentz’s lap for another sack.

“[Cousins] was getting the ball out, and they were running the ball on us”, Barwin said. “Kerrigan obviously is a really good player, a really good rusher”. All guys can make plays in the backfield on run plays. They’re good in a number of different areas. “It takes efforts like this to get there and we’re happy for that. don’t get us wrong, we’re ecstatic”. But Washington sacked Wentz on consecutive downs, which led to a punt just inside the two-minute warning.

Head coach Doug Pederson and offensive coordinator Frank Reich weren’t great, either. Those are the kind of plays that strangled the Redskins in the past, but this time, the Redskins were fortunate. “But sometimes he’ll move into the slot on man coverage”.

This will be Carson Wentz’s most hard challenges in terms of throwing against a talented secondary.

Last week, there was some doubt incurred by the Eagles, who were flagged 14 flags for 111 yards in the 24-23 loss to Detroit. We already have Ryan Mathews, isn’t one enough?

“He still has elite speed, he’s a great blocker”, Cousins said.

“I felt good”, Jones said of the long run. “I thought he battled and that he did better in the second half”. Philly instead settled for a field goal, the final points of the game, and faced a seven-point deficit at the end of the drive.
