Love is due to make three of his selections after the next two FedEx Cup playoff events, with the fourth pick to be made after The Tour Championship. Love will choose three of his wildcards after the BMW Championship on September 11 and make his final selection two weeks later after the Tour Championship, only five days before the Ryder Cup starts.

Sung Kang matched the course record with a 64 to move from No. 122 to No. 88. A bogey on the par-3 third hole put him two shots behind Fowler, but not for long. Those missing out will be Shane Lowry, Peter Malnati, Robert Streb, Lucas Glover and Jonas Blixt.
That’s significant because Reed now is assured of being among the five players who only have to win the Tour Championship at East Lake to capture the FedEx Cup and claim the $10 million bonus, the richest payoff in golf. She won the Women’s British Open in the event before the Olympics, and made it two in a row on the tour Sunday in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies blasting 2-iron and 3-wood off the driving holes on the tree-lined course.
That gives the Americans two of this year’s major champions and only one rookie.
