Reed, Johnson and Snedeker earn final three automatic Ryder Cup spots
Patrick Reed secured a one-shot victory at The Barclays on Sunday, a result that also clinched him a place on the US Ryder Cup team.

Ranked eighth in the world, Rickie Fowler, had two PGA Tour wins previous year and seven top 10 finishes so far in 2016.
Reed later said that short stretches of poor play had cost him several chances to win in recent times, but the difference on Sunday was that he had a cushion coming down the stretch.
A birdie on the 12th then doubled Reed’s advantage and, when Fowler was again unable to save par from sand on the 15th, the destiny of the title was effectively decided and allowed Reed the luxury of bogeys on the 16th and 18th. Fowler needed to finish third to move past Zach Johnson into the eighth spot in the USA standings, and he was two shots clear of O’Hair and Grillo.
“This is about as tough a test as you get and I did great the first 10 holes”, said Fowler, who also took bogey at the 18th. Reed holed a 12-foot birdie putt on the next hole for a two-shot lead, and Fowler never got any closer.
“I just made a couple of bad swings at the wrong time”, Fowler said, adding, “It was a disappointing back nine”. “I was trying to win”.
Had Fowler simply played those last four holes safe, he likely would have made the Ryder Cup team.
Love is scheduled to pick three of his four wildcard picks after the BMW Championship on September 11th, with his final pick being announced on September 25th, days before the Ryder Cup begins in Minnesota.
World number one Jason Day, fellow Australian Adam Scott and Gary Woodland were a shot further back, with Fowler slipping into a tie for seventh with Ryan Moore and Jason Kokrak. Jutanugarn had a 23-under 265 total and earned $337,500.
The 20-year-old shot a 6-under 66 to beat Sei Young Kim (65) of South Korea by four strokes.
Stacy Lewis (Arkansas Razorbacks) finished 22nd at 6 under and won $24,345.
SNOQUALMIE, Wash. – Bernhard Langer made a 3-foot birdie putt on the first hole of a playoff with Woody Austin and Kevin Sutherland to win the PGA Tour Champions’ Boeing Classic for the second time.
Last years champion, Jason Day finished fourth with a 7-under 69. The caution gave him another shot, though, and he took advantage. It is the fourth straight season that the 26-year-old American from Texas has won a PGA Tour event.
Tied for the third-round lead with Taiwan’s Cheng Tsung Pan, Brehm closed with a bogey for a 3-under 68 and his first Web.com Tour victory.
Austin Cook (Jonesboro, Arkansas Razorbacks) tied for 50th at 4 under and won $2,250.

Joint runner-up Grillo, who finished tied for 13th at the PGA Championship at Baltusrol last month, had thought pre-tournament that seven-under would have a chance of winning on a public course that bears a warning sign that it is “only for highly skilled players”.
