Reese Witherspoon Honoured With American Cinematheque Award
Reese Witherspoon has thanked her “amazing supportive” family in an emotional tribute as she picked up the American Cinematheque Award last night (30.10.15).

At the star-studded event, Reese – who was also joined by her husband, Jim Toth – was honored for her almost 25-year career as an actress and producer.
Of course, Hudson also used her time on stage to get serious about her love for her long-time friend. “It is the greatest privilege of my life”. She is determined. She is the kind of woman who can inspire a movement.
Last year’s victor, Matthew McConaughey, will present the honor to Witherspoon during the ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza hotel. “I was 11, and I can say I met my match [with Reese]”. That’s what you’re doing, Reese. “I’ve always loved you as an actress, I’ve always loved you as a girl, and maybe a few day, who knows, the right thing will come up, and I would happily play your sister from another mister!”
Other presenters included Jennifer Aniston, Alexander Payne, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Garner, Laura Dern, Diane Ladd, T Bone Burnett, Bruna Papandrea, Jean-Marc Vallée, and Sofia Vergara. Kenny Chesney is scheduled to perform.

A big theme throughout the night was Witherspoon’s fervor for feminism. “The roles you were the most passionate about are the ones that resonate the most today”, he noted, referring to Legally Blonde, Election, Wild and Walk the Line on stage. She too spoke about her ambitions for Pacific Standard to bring more women onto the big screen. Sound off below and check out the gallery above to see more stunning celebrity kids! The honor is given to an artist making a significant contribution to the art of the film, but what’s notable about this year’s honor is that Witherspoon is only the fifth female to receive the honor in the fundraising gala’s 29-year history. The award is named after the founder of the American Cinematheque’s Egyptian Theater, in addition to Los Angeles’ Chinese and Million Dollar Theatres. “Dramas have more impact, thrillers have more thrills, comedy more amusing, and every once in awhile at the end we do something really remarkable – we applaud. That’s the power of the movie going experience”.
