Referee Takes Gun Onto Soccer Field After Spat With Players In Brazil

In a lower-league match in Brazil at the weekend, referee Gabriel Murta reportedly left the field after abuse from players and returned with a gun.

Brazilian news outlet G1 Minas Gerias reported Murta had been slapped and kicked by a player for declining to give a red-card penalty to a player on the opposing team before retrieving his handgun from a locker room.

Amateur side Brumadinho was playing against Amantes da Bola – which literally translates as ‘Lovers Of The Ball’.

Giuliano Bozzano, who holds positions with both the Minas Gerais Football Federation and the National Association of Football Referees, says that Murta will attend a meeting along with a psychologist today.

Murta, who might could be a cop every day, bumped into the dip create space, chosen his gun and got back onto the offer and endangered his offenders to possess a go at him again.

Footage taken by a mobile phone shows the player thought to have assaulted the referee running off the pitch as he sees the officials storming towards him with the weapon on his hand.

Gabriel Murta was furious after getting a few rough treatment from one of the teams, but his reaction is sure to lead to serious consequences.

“On the basis of that conversation and his account of events and the results of the psychological assessment I’ll decide what if any measures to take”, Bozzano added.
