Reggie Bush signs one-year deal with Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills have signed National Football League free agent running back Reggie Bush to add experience to their backfield. With Detroit in 2013 he gained 1,006 yards, but then fell way off in 2014, and after moving to San Francisco a year ago, he played only five games before suffering the knee injury.

Bush tore the meniscus in his left knee slipping and falling on an exposed concrete surface surrounding the field in the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis. McCoy, once healthy, will return as the top back after rushing for 895 yards in just 12 games last season, while Williams served as an explosive complement to McCoy in his rookie season.
Bush, 31, tore his meniscus ligament while playing for the Rams last season, his 10th in the National Football League, and acknowledged he was concerned “my career could be over”.
Now the question is whether the USC product is capable of being the high-impact player he was at times with the Dolphins, New Orleans Saints and Detroit Lions.

Last season with the 49ers, he managed just nine yards on two punt returns. “I don’t think he’s ready to be the every-down back like he used to be, but he doesn’t have to be here”. They ranked 30th in kickoff returns and 23rd in punt returns, and if Bush has anything left, he could be a much-needed upgrade. While they should still give an opportunity to someone like Mike Gillislee, who had the best crack at the complementary job without Bush on the roster, it creates even more legitimate competition for the position.

Mathis, running back Chris Johnson and backup quarterback Drew Stanton were given a veteran’s day off from practice Monday. Buffalo also re-signed Daniel Herron and added James Wilder Jr., the son of former Buccaneers fullback James Wilder. This is before his season literally came crashing to a halt when Bush slid into a wall at the former home of the St. Louis Rams in Week 5 previous year. He’s also showcased his versatility by catching 470 passes for 3,508 yards, and 18 touchdowns.
