Reggie Bush traveling to visit Buffalo Bills

Bush injured his knee before halftime and later said he thought the Jets were looking to hurt him. His worst season by far was in 2015 when he tallied only 47 combined yards in the five games for which he played with the San Francisco 49ers. Bush signed with the Bills after he passed a physical while visiting the team at training camp in Rochester, NY. “We had targeted Reggie because we feel a player of his caliber can help us in a variety of areas”.

Bush has been in the league since 2006, when the New Orleans Saints selected him with the No. 2 overall pick of the NFL Draft. “The main goal and focus for me today was just to go play football without thinking about coming off of the injury and trying to protect my knee and kind of second guessing myself”.

“We’ve expressed the same things in that respect, so I’ll definitely be back to returning punts and kicks if they need me to and whatever else it is that they need me to do”, he said.

When healthy, Bush is a dynamic threat as a rusher, receiver and returner. He finally eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in his first year with the Dolphins, but two years later, he was onto his third team, the Lions.

The pressure is on for him to showcase a return to form after failing to do so last season, especially if he wants to keep playing for a while.

After Monday’s padded practice, Rex Ryan was quoted saying that the Bills’ return game was “not really good right now”.

Mike Gillislee received 47 carries a year ago, found the end-zone three times and averaged an impressive 5.7 yards per carry.

The Bills confirmed that Bush is indeed visiting with the team on Monday.

Reggie Bush will have a chance to come in and compete for the starting job considering Karlos Williams will miss the first four games of the 2016 National Football League season.

Bush said he’s had no previous relationship with McCoy, but is eager to build one.

“We’re going to give him every opportunity to be our punt returner, number one”, Ryan said. None of the three players who returned punts for the Bills last season – Marcus Thigpen, Denarius Moore or Leodis McKelvin – remains on Buffalo’s roster.
