Reggis Ball Removed From Team After Stealing Football
“That’s not us and if in fact somebody on our team did something like that then we’ll certainly address it. But I don’t have all the information with me at this time”.

Ball’s Birmingham Bowl antics didn’t go well with the Memphis Athletic Department.
A native of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Ball started 11 games this season and recorded 57 tackles.
The first interception he threw was on a fourth and two play where he was trying to hit the running back out of the backfield.
Reggis Ball, the Stephenson High School cornerback, was kicked out of the University of Memphis Football Team for his actions after Wednesday’s Birmingham Bowl.
He said university President M. David Rudd, incoming head coach Mike Norvell and interim coach Darrell Dickey supported the decision.
According to multiple local reports, Ball attempted to steal a football from the Auburn equipment staff following Auburn’s 31-10 victory in the Birmingham Bowl Wednesday. Several media members also witnessed Ball grab the football, with one reporting that he ran away “while giving the finger”.
Johnson led three touchdowns drives in a 5-minute span starting late in the third quarter.
Video has surfaced, capturing a brief moment of the incident.
“I think I learned a lot this year, and not in any more game than in this game, especially in that sequence of plays when I missed Ricardo who was open, I threw an interception for a touchdown and threw another interception”, White said. Memphis subsequently announced Ball’s dismissal for his actions.

Novell added, “We’re embarrassed about the actions that occurred after the game and that is definitely not the standards or expectations the Memphis football program stands for”.
