Registrar of voters stresses primary voting rules
Anyone who wants to vote in next month’s Democratic Primary must be registered.

If a voter needs to vote absentee by mail, they need to have an application sent to them and may call the office at 467-7264.
The three parties notified Secretary of State Alex Padilla that any of the state’s almost 4.2 million no-party preference voters could request their respective presidential primary ballot.
There will be five Smith County early voting locations: the R.B. Hubbard facility, next door to the Elections Office, at 304 E. Ferguson St.in Tyler; Lindale Public Library, 200 E. Hubbard St.in Lindale; Heritage Building, 1900 W. Bellwood Road in Tyler; Whitehouse Municipal Court, 311 E. Main St.in Whitehouse; and the Noonday Community Center, 16662 County Road 196 in Noonday.
That’s one day ahead of the New Hampshire Primary. This advance voting period will include Saturday voting in all counties on Saturday, February 20. “Election Day polling will take place on March 1 when polls will be open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM”.
The South Carolina Democratic Primary will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016. “This, paired with our Online Voter Registration website (OLVR), gives unprecedented access to the polls for Georgia voters”.

Belangia says the state of SC can benefit from both primary dates because no other state primaries will be competing for the national limelight on those days.
