Quarterback Alex Smith said that he thought the Chiefs played with urgency late in the game, and that there’s a “fine line” considering the Chiefs were missing wide receivers and needed the right personnel and plays for that situation.

Chiefs’ wideout Jeremy Maclin is standing on the sidelines in the fourth quarter of the game against the Patriots, and it appears to be a coach’s decision. Needing two scores to get back in this game, Reid obviously feels the same way and would rather go with a healthy backup. It would have helped tremendously with three timeouts [remaining].

“We probably could have just kicked off and gone for the stop and we would have had decent field position”. And if you give Andy Reid the opportunity to, he’ll screw up the clock.
