Relatives Of Former Miss USA Ali Landry Murdered In Mexico
Former Miss US victor Ali Landry’s father-in-law and brother-and-law were found dead in Mexico after being kidnapped on September 4. The bodies of Juan Manuel Gómez Fernéndez and Juan Manuel Gómez Monteverde were discovered in a rural area known as El Chachalaco, in the municipality of Pueblo Viejo in northern Veracruz on Saturday. According to a Televisa report, a ransom had been paid for their release but the kidnappers refused to set them free.

The two men were kidnapped near their home and held for 16 days.
“My deepest condolences to my soul brother, I love you so much ‘compadre, ‘ I put my heart in your hands and I join you in this deep pain”. The area is well known for drug cartel violence between Los Zetas and the Gulf Cartel, reported the New York Post.
According to the Advocate, it is not unusual in Mexico for celebrities or their relatives to be targeted by kidnappers.
A auto found near the scene is undergoing forensic testing, reported the Advocate, because authorities believe it may have been used in the kidnapping. Monteverde’s brother, Juan Manuel, was also an investor in a local restaurant that was alleged to have been involved with the cartel.
“Landry, who was crowned Miss United States of America in 1996, became famous as the Doritos Girl from her 1998 Super Bowl ad”, People further reports.
