Remarks by President Obama and Prime Minister Trudeau of Canada After
It appears Canadians may be at odds with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s plan to increase our training presence while ending the bombing mission against ISIS, but it’s not a cut and dry issue.

The president said presidential candidates are pandering to Americans’ fears about a terrorist attack in the U.S.
Trudeau has been ambivalent on the massive Pacific trade deal Obama is pushing, and he reiterated to Obama on Thursday that he planned to follow through on his campaign pledge to end Canada’s part in the air campaign against Islamic State – though his nation will ramp up efforts to train local fighters in Iraq and Syria.
Trudeau has repeatedly said he wants to consult with Canadians and Parliament before moving forward on the massive 12-country Pacific Rim trade pact. “You and your family look great”, Obama said.
On Thursday evening, Filipino journalist Tina Monson-Palma asked Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau the burning question among Filipinos: Is he aware that in 2013, Canada dumped tons of garbage in the Philippines and are they doing anything about it? However, for political reasons they have yet to endorse the TPP agreement, which was negotiated in secret by the Harper government in the midst of the just-concluded election campaign.
Though Trudeau’s global image as a hip, next-generation leader mirrors Obama’s of seven years ago, Trudeau’s views on a few of Obama’s biggest policy priorities provide a more sobering contrast. “But one of the things I’ve learned from those leaders is no, let’s talk about what we do at home in concrete terms, and share what works and doesn’t work”, he said. That stand prompted an American reporter to ask whether Obama had asked Trudeau to reconsider.
Both leaders are dealing with a backlash in their respective countries over taking in Syrian refugees amid fears that an influx could pose a security risk. A separate Ipsos poll conducted in both the United States and the United Kingdom found this number jumps to 81 per cent, fuelling debate in the U.S.to halt refugee resettlement programs.
“My expectation is after the initial spasm of rhetoric, people will settle down”, he added. “Recently seen in Canada trick-or-treating with his wife and young children, Trudeau is 26 years younger than the Sultan of Brunei, at 69 the eldest of the 21 leaders of APEC, which is meeting in the Philippine capital this week”.
Trudeau said he wanted to “reassure Canadians and others that we are serious about meeting our emissions reductions targets”.
At the time, a Russian Federation spokesman, who spoke on condition he wouldn’t be identified by Canadian reporters, said that Prime Minister Harper told President Putin, “you should go away from Ukraine”, to which Mr. Putin replied, “It’s impossible since we are not there”.

The USA president predicted oil prices would stay low for a while and this presented an opportunity for producers to diversify their business and for consumers to not to use more gas. I’m just here to say: ‘Tell me what you’re thinking.
