Remi Garde says problems existed at Aston Villa before his arrival
Garde recently said of Remy: “Loic is a guy I know well and of course it would be an interesting player for the team”, said Garde, who was assistant manager when Remy started his career at Lyon.

Wycombe Wanderers will face Aston Villa in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday.
Villa are facing another potentially awkward afternoon in front of the TV cameras and an exit from the FA Cup to League Two opponents would condemn the strugglers to further humiliation.
Aston Villa manager Remi Garde says he’s reached out to Arsenal over the possibility of a loan deal for defender Mathieu Debuchy, among others – but things haven’t progressed past that point.
“I had a conversation with Arsene Wenger a few days about some of the players and Mathieu Debuchy was one of the players”, he said on Thursday.
The French winger is set to join Greek side AEK Athens ending a stay that has cost Villa pennies short of £400,000 for every time he has started a game.
The Wycombe boss hopes the impending replay at Villa Park graces the television screens – admitting the cash bonanza would ease the club’s debt. I am trying to do all I can with my experience and my network to change this.
Garde said: “The player was not happy about his situation at this football club and not playing”. It’s just what I see now.
“I know the finances to the penny, so I know what this means for us and how much this will go to paying our debt off”. In every country, it’s the same when you play against lower league teams.

Yet Wycombe, who had 46-year-old goalkeeper Barry Richardson on their substitutes’ bench, earned an equaliser against a strong Villa side through Joe Jacobson’s penalty, which looked to have been harshly awarded, five minutes after halftime.
