Remi Tinubu Causes Mild Ruckus, Takes over Ekweremadu’s Seat

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Kogi State chapter, has reacted to the words of the former governor of Lagos state and National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu that governor Idris Wada of the PDP is a goner in Saturday poll.

The suspected assassins, who Mr. Anichukwu said operated in an unmarked, tinted, brand new, white-colored Mercedez Benz AMG E63, “were reportedly chauffeured by a long-bearded light skinned foreigner, apparently a mercenary”.

The rebuke came when the senator stood up to speak while still standing in the deputy Senate president corner.

However, speaking to newsmen on Wednesday, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, has described the attempt on Ekweremadu’s life as an indication that political assassination era is back in Nigeria.

Mr. Metuh also said the PDP was “compiling a list of all APC governors-elect and candidates that are in court facing corruption charges” and would make the list available to Nigerians.

In statement released on Tuesday, November 17, Ekweremadu’s media aide, Uche Anichukwu, had alleged that the suspected assassins trailed the senator, who was on his way to the office at about 10.00am, from Apo Flyover and Dantata Construction Company’s yard, close to the Old Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) junction in Abuja.

“We therefore want the worldwide community to note this ugly development in our country and hold the government responsible should any unexplained harm befall any PDP leader”.

“A survey conducted by the organisation showed that the PDP-led administration in the state had collapsed activities at the third tier of government and placed council staff on percentage pay,”he said”.

“No party has ever fielded corrupt individuals for political offices like the APC”, he said.

“Abubakar Audu remains the best of the candidates jostling to rule the state because of his wealth of experience in statecraft and verifiable achievements that have continued to affect lives positively across the state”, Adeyemi said.
