Remnants of Hurricane Patricia to Bring Rain to Central Illinois
What remains of Hurricane Patricia that walloped Mexico and dumped over a foot of rain in Texas will likely bring about an inch of rain locally on Wednesday as the main slug of moisture passes to our west, the National Weather Service said. Conversely, if the weather system moves along progressively, that would reduce the threat of flooding. Also add a few wind to it and it won’t feel that great.

We will see numerous showers today and tonight, accompanied by gusty east winds. Sustained winds of 30 to 40 miles per hour are possible with gusts up to 65 miles per hour.
The remnants of Hurricane Patricia will slide across the Gulf Coast on Monday, while an area of low pressure drifts across the Intermountain West.
In the Carbondale area, about an inch and a half of rain is expected. Rainfall rates will exceed 2 inches per hour at times, leading to flash flooding.
As of right now, the Wednesday morning commute looks dry, but the race will be on between the rain and the afternoon commute.
The storm that was Hurricane Patricia is now a rainstorm that has been drenching the Gulf states.
The lack of high water in our region will be due to the flawless southeast wind flow. This will give us chances for a few rain and thunderstorms for a lot of this upcoming weekend, especially later portions of our Saturday and into Sunday. The most significant coastal flooding is expected from roughly South Padre Island, Texas, to the Texas-Louisiana border.
