Remo has been summoned by the Goa Police, asking him to appear before the investigating officer this evening (around 4 PM) after he failed to do so on Monday on account of his Europe trip.
The photo copy of the letter sent by Agacaim PI Jivaba Dalvi to FRRO was circulated on WhatsApp yesterday, making it big news in the media circles since Dalvi stated in the letter the police enquiry reveals that Remo is a Portuguese national.
As per the first information report filed by Aires Rodrigues on behalf of the girl, Remo verbally abused her on December 3 at the Goa Medical College ward in Bambolim, near here, where she was hospitalised for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident.
The summons were issued by Agassaim Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi. However, after it was confirmed (through FRRO) that Remo holds a Portuguese passport, Agacaim police has now written to the FRRO requesting it to inform the Indian Embassy in Lisbon regarding the case and also to serve the summons to Remo, who is currently said to be in Europe. He said police have already submitted the summons to the Foreigner Regional Registration Office (FRRO) which will forward it to the embassy. “I have now told Panaji SDPO to find out all the details”, said SP Gaonkar. “We’ll come to know about it once a proper enquiry is conducted”, said the SP.
The accident was reported on December 1, along a road and Mapusa police had registered an offence against Jonah in connection with the case.

Police have already recorded the statement of the girl and her elder sister, both natives of neighbouring Malvan town in Maharashtra.
