Enter Jack Qwant (Patrick Dempsey) … after Bridget takes a tumble into a mud pit at a too-hip music festival – Jack comes to her rescue, leading to a romantic encounter.
Speaking about the musical she said, “We have done quite a lot of work on the musical, and we’ve done some workshops”.
She explained that she had to “commit to breaking that cycle for a little bit so that I could grow as a person” and that she was “boring herself” by working so much. “If not now, then it’d be in like two more years, in three years, or in 10 years, and then you don’t do them, I didn’t want that to happen”.
Furthermore, she said she enjoyed having “authentic” conversations with people she met as well as being able to run errands without being noticed.
Helen added: ‘I’m really excited about a musical. It’s fantastic, you order your coffee and you get a coffee and leave.
“Sure – accidentally”, Renée Zellweger offered during an interview with Refinery29 at the London press junket for Bridget Jones’s Baby.
She also appeared in thriller The Whole Truth this year, alongside Keanu Reeves and Jim Belushi.
Whether or not Edge of Reason’s abject failure is the reason we’ve had to wait a whole twelve years for a third movie is open to debate, but the good news is that, thanks to the return of Bridget Jones” Diary director Sharon Maguire, this long-awaited follow-up is a worthy “threequel’ that captures the spirit of the original movie.
The acting veteran dictated one tweet that read: ‘I would just like to know how Patrick Dempsey is old enough to be my dad, yet he’s hot’.
Also on the show was actress Aisling Bea, Olympic couple Laura Trott and Jason Kenny and members of the Team GB gold-winning hockey team.
