Sonic Mania is being developed by SEGA in collaboration with Christian Whitehead, Headcannon, and PagodaWest Games.

At tonight’s Sonic the Hedgehog 25th anniversary celebration at San Diego Comic-Con, Sega also unveiled the first teaser for Project Sonic, a new game that seems to share some traits with Sonic Generations. It’s what Sonic the Hedgehog 4 should have been, and it’s glorious! However this game won’t bring about new fantastic graphics, but rather it will revert to a more familiar look that gamers have probably grown up with. The game will feature a mix of remastered levels from classic Sonic the Hedgehog games with all new levels as well.
With a tagline of “Join the Resistance”, Project Sonic 2017 will arrive next year on PS4, Xbox One, PC and, most intriguingly, Nintendo’s NX, making it the third confirmed title for the mysterious platform alongside The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Just Dance 2017.
