Renowned Pakistani actress Shamim Ara passes away
Legendary Pakistani film star of yesteryear Shamim Ara has reportedly passed away after struggling with death and being in coma for more than 5 years.

Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, then prime minister in 2010, inquired after Shamim Ara had given her a cheque of Rs0.5 million.
Shamim Ara was born in British India at Aligarh in 1938.
After Shamim Ara’s husband Sardar Rind died in a fatal auto accident on Karachi-Hyderabad Highway, she married film director Fareed Ahmed but this marriage only lasted for a very short time and the couple separated for unknown reasons and got divorced. Her acting career spans from late 1950s till early 1970s. She also essayed a minor role in Anarkali in 1958 starring Noor Jehan as Anarkali and Shamim Ara as her younger sister Surayya.
She has been living with her son in London now a days.
The family encouraged her to become a professional dancer in her childhood. Shameem started her showbiz career through the film Kanwari Bewah in 1956 and after that she never looked back.
The Doraha leading lady had an interesting career; her first film Kunwari Baywa tanked at the box office but her role had the industry buzzing.
As of 2016, she was still married to Dabeer-ul-Hasan who is a film story writer and an associate film producer.

Shamim Ara’s contribution was not only limited as an actor but she had also contributed as a director and producer to the film industry of Pakistan. She directed first time in 1976 a film Jeo Aur Jeenay Do.
