High-ranking Russian officials on Wednesday fended off allegations that pro-Russian rebels in eastern Ukraine were responsible for shooting down Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 past year.
Asked about compensation, Guard said there was potential for families to make claims against Malaysia Airlines under the Montreal convention, which deals with airline liability in the case of death of passengers.
“We have never concealed that we are very frustrated, for instance, by the fact that Russian experts have not been engaged in this investigation”, Peskov said.
The spokeswoman said it is indisputable that Ukraine was directly responsible for not closing its airspace to civil aviation flights.
The Dutch investigators said the missile exploded less than a meter (yard) from the MH17 cockpit, killing three crew in the cockpit and breaking off the front of the plane.
He added: “I’m going to have to go away and think “Yes, Liam died instantly as (did) 297 other people”. This warhead was of 9N314M type carried on the kind of missile that is installed on the Buk surface-to-air missile system.
A partial reconstruction of a Malaysia Airlines jet made of wreckage found strewn across eastern Ukraine has told the graphic story of its violent last moments after being hit by a surface-to-air missile. According to the report, the Russian-made missile detonated within about 3 feet off the cockpit, just above and to the left of the nose of the Boeing 777. He said the missile was sacked from the ground.
However, the 9M38M1 has a maximum range of up to 35km, potentially allowing it to strike targets over an area of nearly 4,000 square kilometres. On the day of the accident, 160 airliners flew over eastern Ukraine.
Novikov said evidence shows that if the plane was hit by a Buk, it was sacked from the village of Zaroshenske, which Russian Federation says was under Ukrainian government control at the time. Meanwhile, if we are to receive more clarity as to who was behind the downing of MH17, we’ll have to wait for the results of a Dutch criminal investigation.
Joustra said “almost all operators” were flying over Ukraine because no one thought commercial aircraft were at risk at cruising altitude.

The board also noted that Ukraine should have closed off airspace to civilian planes. The missile’s Russian manufacturer released a separate report Tuesday disputing the suggestion that a Russian Buk was to blame.
