Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for Amy Goodman of NY for a Class B misdemeanor, according to court documents.
Goodman, a NY resident, broadcast video showing private security forces working for Dakota Access Pipeline unleash attack dogs at the pipeline protest site, where guards have been widely criticized for the violence.
The video footage has been widely cited by people who have since criticized the use of dogs by the security personnel, including the American Civil Liberties Union of North Dakota.
“This is unacceptable violation of freedom of the press”, said Goodman in a statement. Hall is charged with two counts of trespassing, one a Class B misdemeanor in connection with the September 3 protest.
Green Party presidential nominee Dr. Jill Stein also received an arrest warrant, along with her running mate, Ajamu Baraka, for scrawling graffiti on equipment during the protests.
A journalist who captured footage of North Dakota pipeline protesters being confronted by private security officers and guard dogs has been charged with trespassing.
