Grant Community High School was on lockdown at the request of the Fox Lake Police Department.
Police requested nearby Grant Community High School go on lockdown due to activity and for the “safety of our students and staff”, the school said.
The school was notified by Fox Lake police to “please place schools on lockdown”. The task force confirms that they are looking for two or three subjects.
Also on soft lockdown are Gavin South Middle School and Gavin Central Elementary School in Ingleside.
The police activity has also shut down service on the Milwaukee District North Line in both directions. A press conference has been scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Sources said it started with a traffic stop on Rollins Road, when pepper spray was deployed, and the officer was shot and seriously wounded.
