A North Carolina mall where shoppers fled after reports of gunfire on Saturday is reopening for business.
Police were called to Crabtree Mall around 2:45 Saturday afternoon. The site said that people who rushed from the mall leaving personal belongings behind on Saturday afternoon could claim them in the mall’s community room beginning at noon. They quickly ran into the store with dozens of others.
Deck-Brown said they can not confirm gunshots, but that a sound came from the Lush store based on the 911 call. Raleigh Police Department dispatchers initially said shots were fired inside the mall but added that it was unclear what motivated the shooting, where exactly it happened, or whether more than one shooter was involved.
John Riggleman and Kristin Warring said in an interview that they were heading to a video game store when they heard shots coming from the food court.

Raleigh Police Chief Cassandra Deck Brown said there were at least 8 people emergency workers brought to hospitals with injuries.
‘We got as low as we could, behind a barricade.’Saw a lot of people running and pushing to get out.
No suspects have been arrested, and no one with gunshot wounds has been located.
Police officers went store to store to check on shoppers and employees before announcing that it was safe to leave.
Footage from a news helicopter showed shoppers filing out of the mall with their hands over their heads as police took control of the scene. “Until we can render safety for all, no one goes back into the mall”, she said. Other eyewitnesses said they had to run out of the mall.
