Reports of student with gun sparks Virginia lockdown
“Culpeper County High School officials had a report of a student with a weapon on a bus this morning”. The student had made statements that he meant to shoot others “in a very descriptive way”, Jenkins said. “A large number of law enforcement officers are on scene at this time searching the building”. After checking the school’s video system, officials saw the suspect walking off the school’s campus.

He was taken into custody about a half-mile from the school. The weapon, which turned out to be a pellet gun, was later recovered at a residence. The gun casings were apparently unrelated, Jenkins said.
A teenage student was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly displayed a weapon and made threats against others, authorities said.
The lockdown was prompted after several students reported seeing a student with a handgun on a bus Tuesday and Wednesday.
“Today it took two hours to notify school staff”, Jenkins said.
He chose not to publicly give the suspect’s name.
“He chose to give himself up”, Jenkins said. Charges are pending against the student, who remains in custody. Friends and family members are being questioned as well before the Commonwealth will charge him with any crimes.
The ninth-grader was seen with a gun on a school bus, but students didn’t immediately report anything to school officials, the Culpeper Sheriff told NBC Washington.
