“Donald Trump in 2008 wrote four cheques to elect Hillary Clinton as President”, added Mr Cruz, turning to Mr Trump to demand why he had done so.

Watch Mitt Romney’s full speech at the Hinckley Institute of Politics in Salt Lake City, Utah on Thursday. “You get to the point where you say, your grandkids are going to say to you, ‘papa, what did you do to stop Donald Trump?’ I had to finally get out and speak”, Romney explained.

“He’s trying to do to the American voters what he did to the people that signed up for this course”, Rubio declared.
