Republican candidates Donald Trump and Ben
He could do so well among “very conservative” voters that he could swamp his challengers, especially if multiple candidates with more appeal among self-described moderate voters split the rest of the field.

Cruz has activated an army of small donors the way then-Senator Barack Obama did in 2008. Many of us are not happy with those (anti-immigrant) comments.
Trump’s opponents have also tried to bar him from competing in the February 9 primary in New Hampshire. “Whether or not that transpires this time around, who knows”, said Woolson.
A dozen states, including Texas, have primaries or caucuses on March 1, this election cycle’s Super Tuesday.
All of these possibilities remain in play for Cruz.
But, in response, The Donald is flashing his Trump card again. He has similarly pushed – unsuccessfully, albeit unapologetically – to use the power of the purse to stop Obamas immigration policies and strip federal funding for Planned Parenthood.Cruz mocked his fellow Republican presidential candidates for being absent in those fights.
The Reuters poll showed Trump dropping from 43 percent support on November 22 to 31 percent on November 27, a five-day nosedive reminiscent of fluctuating GOP fickleness in 2012. “I’ll tell you I am proud to be unambiguously pro-life, to support protecting every human life, from the moment of conception to the moment of natural death, I think every human life is a gift from God”, Cruz said in Newton, Iowa, Sunday. “It is about what I think we need to be able to lead the country, and I think there are a lot of people that are glad that I am finally speaking out because nobody else is”.
Some of his Republican rivals did push back on Trump’s disgraceful embrace of registering American Muslims in some kind of database-he would “absolutely” do that-as well as his statement that he’d “strongly consider” shutting down mosques, and his refusal to rule out forcing Muslims to carry special identification. Cruz took half a loaf (or really, nine-tenths of a loaf) by reauthorizing everything except a few parts that forced the NSA to jump through extra procedural hurdles in accessing domestic phone records data for a terrorism investigation. SC could go either way (McCain in ’08, Gingrich over Romney in ’12), but it has traditionally leaned more establishment.
“Let me be very clear: I don’t believe Donald Trump is gonna be the nominee, I don’t believe he’s gonna be our president”. While he’ll maintain a core of support, Republicans know they can not nominate a fascist-leaning narcissist for president unless they want Hillary and Bill Clinton in the White House for another four years.
To end the refugee crisis, Cruz said the USA needs to ramp up its air raids and arm Iraqi Kurds to “utterly defeat and destroy ISIS”. Cruz now believes those lanes are “collapsing” into a single superhighway – a “conservative lane”. Store employees said the campaign hadn’t told them they were coming.
There are some signs of that being the case in Alabama, where conservative activists have bridged alliances with more traditional Republican Party leaders to support Cruz’s efforts in the Yellowhammer State.
Cruz’s odds – which stand at 21 percent – are greater than Trump’s 20 percent odds for the first time, according to the Political Prediction Market, a live, online game, conducted by the company Pivit for CNN. North Alabama congressman and tea party favorite Mo Brooks (R-AL5) is chairing the campaign.
Yet even when talking about his poll numbers, Kasich referenced Trump.
“If Christie can’t break 3 percent and get himself into the top eight, it doesn’t matter how many endorsements he has in New Hampshire, he’s not going to be a factor”, he said on “Hard Line”.

Cruz’s remarks on contraception came at the final event of a three-day, 14-stop swing through early voting Iowa.
