Republican Cruz and Democrat Sanders score wins in Wisconsin
Ted Cruz is celebrating a commanding victory in Wisconsin, hurting Donald Trump’s chances of clinching the Republican nomination before the party’s convention.

Sanders is in Wyoming before that state’s democratic caucuses on Saturday. It was Sanders’ seventh victory out of the last eight primaries.
But the Wisconsin results are nearly certainly more damaging for Mr Trump.
The billionaire stormed to the fore previous year with a brash anti-establishment message.
Cruz’s chief spokesman later said that Ohio Governor John Kasich, the third Republican candidate in the race, was only staying in the run to make a play to be the vice presidential pick – presumably as part of a ticket with Donald Trump. While the Republicans are gripping with the likelihood of an open convention this July in Cleveland, the Democrats are facing an increasingly competitive nomination process as Sanders has won six of the last seven contests.
“Tonight is a turning point. We have a choice, a real choice”.
Analysts said Tuesday’s vote could alter the trajectory of the Republican race.
Mainstream were quick to project Trump as a victor of the Wisconsin primary, where 42 delegate were at stake.
Sanders’ win will net him a handful of additional delegates, but he’ll still lag Clinton significantly.
“Hillary, get ready, here we come”. If Trump does not reach 1,237, he may have to hurdle a contested convention, where the party will implement rules that may nominate another candidate, despite him winning the most number of states. He would need to win 494 of the remaining 769 GOP delegates.
Voters cast ballots at a polling station in Sandburg Hall at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee April 5.
Statewide, with 98 percent of the precincts reporting, Cruz received 519,965 votes (48 percent), Trump 377,526 (35 percent) and Kasich 151,074 (14 percent).
Hillary Clinton won 43.3 percent of the Wisconsin vote.
However, Trump campaign exuded confidence that with the primary season entering States like NY favourable for him, he was on his way to get the 1237 delegates.
“If we can keep our momentum going through the states that vote and caucus over the next three weeks, we’re going to win this election”, Sanders said.
“For centuries America has been a shining city on a hill, a beacon of liberty to the world, and we can and will be once again”, Cruz said Tuesday night during a wide-ranging victory speech.
Trump is the favorite in the next primary on April 19 in his home state of NY.
Trump also leads handily in his home state of NY and in Pennsylvania.
Though she eventually walked away with more delegates, Clinton lost among voters aged 18-29 in every state on Super Tuesday, some by a margin as large as 90 percent.
His campaign for months had appeared immune to criticism or self-implosion.
Cruz was flanked by Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who endorsed his former rival last week.
Yesterday also cements Cruz’s status as the leading anti-Trump candidate, with Kasich far back in the nomination battle.
U.S. Republicans have not had a contested convention since 1976.

Despite a double-digit win over Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders still has a long way to go to overtake his Democratic Party rival in the Democratic Party.
