Republican debate has second-lowest rating, but beats Trump rally

Trump chose not to attend the debate because he said he was unfairly singled out in a previous debate by Kelly.

As previously reported, Trump, 69, boycotted the Fox-hosted debate because of his ongoing feud with the “Kelly File” host. “Like the Academy Awards, this is like the Academy Awards!” said Donald Trump, (R) presidential candidate. “Did you plan that?” He needs more than just those fox who are anti-Fox news Republicans. Overall, ratings for prime-time Republican debates – fueled by Trump’s popularity and unpredictability – have been three to four times higher than they were in 2011.

Stephen Colbert has been observing the doughy billionaire for long enough to understand this very simple fact, which is why he held a “debate” on The Late Show Thursday night that pitted Donald Trump against…

Fox News Channel said on Thursday that Trump had demanded a five million-dollar contribution to his charities in order to appear in the debate. Ted Cruz, calling the Texas Republican an “anchor baby” during a campaign stop here on Friday.

The ironic part is that if this debate somehow lowers the buzz and enthusiasm around the primary and keeps caucus turnout low, it actually benefits Cruz, who is polling second behind Trump in Iowa.

A Fox News spokesperson tells Yahoo that Kelly never referred to Trump as the famous antagonist of the Harry Potter series.

“This way we made our point”, Trump added. Almost two-thirds of respondents – Democrat and Republican – said they oppose her becoming president. Even though it’s been more than a year since he gave it up, last night he proved that he still got what it takes. Instead, Trump hosted a event to raise money for veterans nearby in Des Moines. There was a weasely-sounding quip from Cruz and an awkward one from former Gov. Jeb Bush about leaving the stage like you-know-who. Sen.

Of course, everybody is now wondering if skipping the GOP debate was a good idea, since the Iowa caucus is just a few days away.
