Republican Lindsey Graham drops out of 2016 presidential race
Sen. Graham, whose campaign failed to qualify for the main stage on any of the 2016 Republican primary’s presidential debates, has also withdrawn from the South Carolina Republican primary.

Graham, a senator from SC, made the announcement in a Youtube video message, which said he was suspending his campaign for president, Xinhua reported.
Graham’s move was expected because his campaign has in fact never taken off as he has been stuck in low single digits in national polls.
The three-term congressman did not specify why he is dropping out of the race but in national surveys Graham was accredited with no more than 1 percent support from likely Republican voters.
In another key primary state, South Carolina, he faces a Monday December 21 deadline to keep his name off the ballot, potentially helping Graham avoid an embarrassing showing in his home state. “I can not tell you how frustrating it has been to have spent all this time and effort preparing myself to be commander in chief and to be put at the ‘kiddie table'”.
Graham is the fourth GOP hopeful to call it quits this year-joining Rick Perry, Scott Walker, and Bobby Jindal-and his exit shrinks the field to either 12 of 13, depending on whether you still believe Jim Gilmore is actually running for the Republican nomination. “I won’t say how many left, but a lot of people are starting to leave, they’re gonna start to leave”.
But he could have some influence in the vital SC contest if he makes an endorsement. “I’m not going to be competitive outside my state”.
He also warned Americans against nominating Donald Trump for president.
The hawkish Senator noted that most of the other GOP candidates have joined him in calling for the use of American ground troops in the fight against the terrorist group known as the Islamic State.

“This schism is both old and new to the Republican party. This is not a game show, this is not a reality show”. “As sorry as I am to see Lindsey’s candidacy end, I understand his reasons, and I’m as proud of him as I’ve ever been for his exemplary service to our party and our country”.
