Republican Marco Rubio endorsed by SC congressman Gowdy
The former prosecutor is most notably known for his chairmanship of the committee investigating the Benghazi attacks. Marco Rubio (R-FL) for the Republican presidential nomination. But, Wynn said, the endorsement may open the door for Gowdy to serve in Rubio’s administration if Rubio is elected.

Gowdy’s announcement was rumored for days, and Donald Trump made a decision to try to get out in front of the announcement by bashing Gowdy in an appearance on Fox & Friends Sunday. “It was a total not-good for Republicans and for the country”, Trump said, according to Business Insider.
The stop also comes after a new attack ad against Rubio accused him of skipping out on important congressional meetings regarding the nation’s security and public safety. A reaction to actual events – i.e., Gowdy underperforming the high expectations of Republicans?
Gowdy of SC, who sits on the House of Representatives Oversight Committee, announced his support for the junior senator from Florida while on a two-day campaign swing with the candidate through Iowa.
“Marco is a rock solid conservative and a strong leader we can trust”.
Woodard said he believes Gowdy has credibility among conservatives nationally, which may help Rubio’s campaign.
