Around 3,500 people have hit the streets of Melbourne today in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, following a march in Sydney yesterday.

The goal of the event was to bring about awareness of police brutality as well as increase police involvement with the community, said one of the organizers, Amber Bishop.
About halfway through the march, members of Lifeway Church said “God bless you” as they handed out bottles of water to the protesters.
“There’s too much violence in the black community”, Giuliani said.
“Everybody says black lives matter, but (E’monnie) was shot down in front of plenty of her own people, and still nobody will speak up”, she said.
“It’s not about black and white or any other color it’s about all lives matter and everybody respecting that”, said Kerry Finnery, a Black Lives Matter supporter.
A second rally in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement in the United States was held in downtown Montreal’s Cabot Square Saturday afternoon.
A peaceful rally is set to take place to address the violence happening locally and nation-wide. “But, at a minimum, we’re going to have to be watching because that’s really bad stuff and it’s happened a couple of times”. “There hasn’t been any change, so we need change”.
“We’re very interested in having people right from our community take the police exam and get hired, the mayor and I give preference to city residents”, Fowler said. “And we want to live in a world where police don’t have militarized weapons and the public doesn’t have access to these militarized weapons either”.
“It’s hard because what we’ve seen over the last 24 is people condemn the movement without knowing any facts”, Mckesson continued.
